Jonathan's Blazer
Back in 2000 my entire family took a trip. We flew out of Tallahassee and had to wake up early and drive over to catch our flight. My brother Jonathan had just bought an SUV so we decided we would all pile into it so we would only have one car parked at the airport. My dad, Carrie, and I were in the backseat, my brother Jonathan drove, my mom in the passenger seat and James (this is embarrassing, but we did what we had to) in the very back with the luggage....that itself is crazy. Good thing we did not get pulled over. Anyway.... when we were figuring out where to put Jessica, we thought maybe up front with my mom. My mom exclaimed that Jessica can't sit up front because Jonathan's car had a passenger side WINDBAG. My mom meant that he had an passenger side AIRBAG and Jessica was really tiny but we about DIED laughing from what she did say, since SHE was the one in the passenger seat!!!! Jessica ended up sitting on mine and Carrie's laps in the back seat!!!

Garage Sales
My mom is a southern woman and a pastor's wife-which translates to sweet and polite. However when it comes to buying things she can be cut throat :o) She used to love to go to Garage Sales. My sisters and I used to go with her from time. One thing she did was to "shop" and would get lots of clothes and items and would always barter with the lady who was selling stuff, but sometimes would offer unrealistic prices. For example, 2 huge bags of clothes my mom would say would you take 2 dollars or something for it. Surprisingly though sometimes she would offer something and they would say yes! Its crazy. ALSO while driving up to the next garage sale she would slow down, look, and get a feel for a garage sale and if it did not look good she would speed up and drive away and say OUTLOUD, that there was nothing but junk here and SOMETIMES our windows would be down! We would throw ourselves in the floorboard from laughing and trying to hide, and almost I think she did it to embarrass us and make us laugh. I have been laughing as I type this post and remembering just how fun those Saturday mornings were with my mom.

LOL
Last year my mom went to her Uncle's funeral up north. She would send me and my sister Jessica text messages through out her time there to let us know what was going on and how she was. After receiving a text my sister screamed for me to come to her room asap! I run there and she is on the floor laughing. She tells me that mom just sent her a text that says this (and this is a direct quote!) "headed to the burial, lol mom" My sister and I almost wet our pants laughing so much. We called our mom and asked her what was so hilarious about her uncle's burial. She was confused and we told her what she had texted. She said that she thought that meant "lots of love". We about died laughing SO HARD. To this day we still will say that and laugh hard.
Alltel
My mom and I went into Alltel a few years ago because she was having some cellphone problems. She is not that familiar with how cellphones work so I went to help her (help the poor alltel man who was assigned to us). We were in the process of getting her a new cell and she was talking to my dad on her cellphone letting him know what was going on and for some reason she had the car charger plugged in at the bottom of her phone just hanging there while she was talking to him. I was so busy trying to get it all set up that I did not notice this right away. The alltel man reached and removed the hanging cord. My mom drops the phone and EXCLAIMS, "You just disconnected my husband!" It took me getting the phone off the floor and saying "dad please tell mom you are still on the phone" for her to believe me. I was SOOO embarrassed. That Alltel guy thought we were insane. We get the new phone I apologize and we leave quickly. I have not taken my mom back to Alltel since.
First Post
This blog is dedicated to my mom. She is a great, intelligent lady that has done some amazing things. Successfully raising five kids is one of those things! She is the most fun to be around because of things she says and does. This blog will be a collection of my favorite Betsy stories and moments. Prepare to laugh!!!! :o)
